This qualification will suit a wide range of learners, including both school and college students, and adults who wish a career change or to develop their knowledge in outdoor learning and development and Forest Schools. The qualification is aimed at anyone enthusiastic about working in the outdoors and provides an excellent starting point for further learning and development.
This rewarding and fun qualification aims to provide students with a detailed understanding of the key principles and criteria of a Forest School programme, including the underpinning planning and learning theory that supports the concept. Students develop knowledge and understanding of woodland ecology and sustainability, as well as improve and extend their practical skills in tool work, bush craft and woodland activities. It prepares students with the appropriate qualification, knowledge and skills to undertake the role of a Forest School assistant.
This rich and rewarding qualification is designed provide students with the practical skills, learning and development theory as well as essential woodland ecology and management understanding needed to plan and deliver Forest School programmes. The qualification prepares students to plan and deliver Forest School activities for children, young people or adults in an outdoor learning environment. Successful completion of this course will provide students with the qualification required to gain employment as Forest School Leader, in a school environment, with outdoor education providers or as independent practitioner.
