You will consolidate the skills learnt on the previous two courses, and embark on more advanced and difficult projects. You will also get the opportunity to work on a project of your own, which you can take home after the course.
You will learn basic metalsmithing techniques such as drawing down, bending, twisting and punching metals. You will be taught how to make simple components and at the end of the course you can make your own decorative piece to take away.
This follow on course will add to the skills from the beginners' course, which will include chiselling, scrolling, riveting, hardening and tempering.
This is a programme designed to inform newly formed enterprises in the field of Metalsmithing / engineering. It identifies the key issues to be considered when setting up and running this new enterprise. Topics include marketing, communications, cash flow and certain legal requirements.
