Detailed Description
~ Production Notes ~
Plumpton Estate Brut NV is a fine blend of Riesling, Regner and Reichensteiner. The base wine is fermented in tank, then again once in bottle. The wine spends at least 2 years ageing on lees before it is disgorged. The local Brandy 'Spirit of the South Downs' is used in the dosage to add warmth, wholeness and complexity.
~ Tasting Notes ~
Delicate notes of caramel, bergamot and nutmeg emerge from a body of green apple and malt. On the palate, balanced acidity and brandy tones give way to a warm, filling finish. Pairs well with roasted nuts and antipasti, as well as deserts like apple tarte tatin and poached pears.
